for me, alexander wang's collections have started to become too much of a one hit wonder (see also balmain). that's why in looking at his resort collection, i was glad to see him moving beyond the eighties look he's cultivated into more pieces that are wearable by everyone. in addition to his standby sweatshirt separates (cap sleeve tunics, raw hem shorts, slouchy jackets), there were satin cocoon jackets, drawstring waist leggings and high waist skirts. the draped dresses were standouts, including a short navy sequin (with tulip hem), some jersey cocktail versions and a shoulder heather grey gown that was at once relaxed and glamourous.

Whilst I can totally understand your reasoning behind this statement. I have to admit that Balmain collections are one big guilty indulgence for me. Eg. The evening dresses in the Fall '09 Collection were nothing short of covetable pieces of heaven on a hanger!
I LOVE all of Alexander Wang's collection. They are so amazing and chic.
